Who is this qualification for?
The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Colouring Hair is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical colouring skills to an advanced level. This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
Why is this qualification most suitable?
This qualification is suitable if you want to learn the skill of planning, colouring and styling a client’s hair. At 179 guided learning hours (GLH) this qualification is larger than the VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Colouring Hair; whilst both qualifications give learners the ability to develop skills, with the Level 3 Certificate in Colouring Hair learners will develop a greater breadth of technical skills.
What does this qualification cover?
The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Colouring Hair is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills. There are three mandatory units in this qualification for you to study which include: creatively colour hair and advanced styling and dressing with both underpinned by monitoring health and safety. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services.
What can this qualification lead to?
When you have successfully completed this qualification you will have the opportunity to progress to the following VTCT qualifications:
• Level 4 Certificate in Hair Colour Correction
• Level 4 Certificate in Specialist Hair and Scalp Services
• Level 4 Award in Advanced Hairstyling
This qualification may lead directly into employment in the hairdressing industry specialising as a colour artist, a salon manager or to work as an independent hairdresser.
Mandatory - from this group you'll need to cover a minimum of 3 components and earn a minimum of 22 credits.
