Who is this qualification for?

The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Preparation for the Police Service (QCF) is a technical level qualification the provides learners with the underpinning knowledge and skills to undertake a career in the Police Service or other law enforcement agencies. This qualification will also support learners applying for the Special Constabulary.

This qualification has been developed in partnership with a number of Police forces across the country, supporting partnership working to facilitate community policing and lead on ethics and integrity in the Police Service.

Why is this qualification most suitable?

This qualification has been specifically designed for the 16-19 age group and aims to develop some of the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills required in the Police Service and other law enforcement agencies.

What does this qualification cover?

This qualification covers all fundamental elements to sufficiently prepare learners to pursue a career in the Police Service including: joining the Police Service; protection of self and others; physical fitness for the Police Service; community and neighbourhood Policing; dealing with Police incidents and communication in the Police Service.

What could this qualification lead to?

Learners who complete this qualification will be extremely well placed to pursue a career in the Police Service, Special Constabulary and other law enforcement agencies.
